Adult social care self-referrals move online

Hounslow residents can now start an adult social care referral online and track updates through a portal account, with phone support still available. The council says the new route is designed to give clearer updates and earlier signposting; use the adult social care update to find the referral link.

Amazon licensing comments close on 21 July

Amazon's premises licence application for 15 Shield Drive, Brentford, remains open for representations until Tuesday 21 July. The pending premises applications page links to the application and explains how residents can comment.

Kew's Tom Gates family trail opens next week

Kew Gardens starts its Tom Gates EPIC Adventure on Saturday 18 July, with a woodland tree trail, craft tent, giant doodle wall and daily DogZombies live performances. It runs until 31 August and is included with garden entry; the Tom Gates event page has times and booking links.

Kew hosts an over-18s silent disco among the plants in the Temperate House, with two DJ channels, a bar and food available. Adult tickets are £35.20, or £27.50 for Kew members, and garden entry is not included. Book through the Silent Disco page.

Classics and Cake at the Brentford Riviera

Duke of London's monthly classics and supercar meet returns to Corson Yard, with ticket proceeds going to Cocoon Care After Care. The Duke of London events page has the July booking link.

South Asian culture at Bell Square

Watermans brings ANHAD back to Bell Square with South Asian artists from around the UK. It is part of the free outdoor Bell Square programme; see the Watermans what's on page for the event listing.

Thursday 9 July

Stay and Play with CAMHS, 10-11.15am. Brentford Family Hub East hosts a free play session for children aged 0-5 and their parents or carers. Families can join activities together and speak to staff about concerns over a child's development; check the Family Hub timetable before travelling.

A Midsummer Night's Dream at Gunnersbury, show starts 7.30pm. ELSF brings a family-friendly outdoor production of Shakespeare's comedy to Gunnersbury Park. Gates open from 6.30pm, picnics are welcome, and tickets start at £13; the Gunnersbury event page has booking details for an optional pre-show flower-fairy headband workshop for younger audience members.

Friday 10 July

Dad's Play at Brentford Family Hub, 10.30-11.30am. Dads and male carers can bring babies and children aged 0-5 to a free stay-and-play session at Brentford Family Hub East on North Road. The Friday programme also includes infant feeding support and a non-walker session; check the Family Hub page before travelling.

Saturday 11 July

Free.Her portraits at Bell Square, 11am-6pm. Artist Anna Jochymek's free outdoor work shares portraits and stories from Polish women in or connected to Hounslow. It runs at Bell Square from 11am to 6pm; see the Free.Her event page.

Drag brunch at the Lord Nelson, 12-5pm. Drag Me To The Nelly brings singing, bingo, comedy and brunch to the Lord Nelson garden on Enfield Road. The event runs from noon to 5pm; see the Drag Brunch page.

Monday quiz at the Lord Nelson, 7.30-9.30pm. The Lord Nelson's fortnightly Monday Mastermind Quiz returns with a £50 bar tab prize. Gather a team and check the quiz event page before setting out.

Roadworks and Transport

Ealing Road parking restriction now in force: A traffic order made on 17 June has revoked part of the permit parking place outside 178 Ealing Road and introduced a no-waiting restriction there on weekdays from 10-11am and 3-4pm. The order came into operation on 19 June; see the Ealing Road traffic notice.
