Records and makers fill Canada Dock

Crate-dig for vinyl and browse ceramics, jewellery, prints, slow fashion and handmade homeware at the free Independent Label x N4 Makers Market, noon to 6pm on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August. DJs and live performers include DJ Yoda on Saturday and Raining Blue on Sunday.

Bermondsey Carnival takes over Southwark Park

Artful Dodger headlines the free Bermondsey Carnival from 1pm to 9pm on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August. There will be two stages, free funfair rides, children's entertainment, sport, food and community stalls.

Five final films beside the dock

The free Floating Cinema Club closes its summer run with Finding Nemo at noon today, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days at 9pm on Friday, Edge of Tomorrow and Arrival at 6pm and 8pm on Saturday, then Jaws at 6pm on Sunday. Bring a blanket and find a spot by the floating stage.

Local business owner Nicole Michael shares how she built Caribbean sauce brand Nimi Nosh and reached more than 600 Tesco stores at a free talk and Q&A at Canada Water Library. Booking is required; the session includes practical tips, a sauce sample and a take-home business guide.

Harvest Festival at Surrey Docks Farm

The free Harvest Festival brings vegetable games, Morris dancing, farm produce, a barbecue and wood-fired pizza to Surrey Docks Farm. Food and activities raise money for the farm.

A final week of Dockside Den, 11.30am-3.30pm. Families can drop into the free Dockside Den beside Canada Dock today, then from 11.30am to 4pm on Friday and 11am to 4pm on Saturday. The changing programme includes art, games, music and hands-on activities; access may pause if it reaches capacity.

Saturday 29 August

Gospel singing masterclass, 3.30-6.45pm. Kingdom Choir founder Karen Gibson MBE and vocal coach Byron Gold lead a gospel and faith-based singing masterclass at Canada Water Theatre. Singers from all backgrounds are welcome; tickets cost £49.46.

Roadworks and Transport

Lower Road overnight lane closure: A lane on Lower Road is due to close from 8pm tonight, Thursday 27 August, until 5am on Friday for council works.

Gomm Road closes on Friday: Gomm Road is due to close for council works throughout Friday 28 August. Nearby Ann Moss Way and Culling Road also have road closures scheduled that day.

Queen Elizabeth Street traffic lights: Two-way temporary traffic lights are due on Queen Elizabeth Street from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 September for council works.
