Beckenham couple targeted by rogue roofers
Bromley Trading Standards has issued a warning after four recent roofing cases across the borough, including a Beckenham couple who had agreed to £25,000 of work and were asked for another £10,000. Waldo Road recycling centre due back in November
Waldo Road Reuse and Recycling Centre is expected to reopen in mid-November after its depot upgrade, initially with a booking system. Until then, the temporary Baths Road disposal site remains open for weekend appointments. Read the reopening update.

Roadworks and Transport
Buses replace Hayes-line trains over the bank holiday: On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August, buses replace trains between Lewisham and Hayes. On bank-holiday Monday, buses run between Beckenham Junction and Hayes while the rest of the network uses a Saturday timetable. Check the latest Southeastern travel advice.
Closures continue around Eden Park: Stanhope Grove, Cherry Tree Walk and Glanfield Road are scheduled to remain closed through Sunday 13 September during gas works. Temporary traffic lights are also in place on Eden Park Avenue.
Copers Cope Road lights start on Tuesday: Two-way temporary traffic lights are scheduled on Copers Cope Road from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 September for Thames Water work. Overnight multi-way lights are also planned on Beckenham Lane from Tuesday night through Friday morning.
