Hayes-line trains stop for the weekend
No trains will run between London Charing Cross and Hayes on Saturday 19 or Sunday 20 September. Replacement buses will run between Lewisham and Hayes, calling at all stations and Beckenham Junction for trains to Victoria. New Beckenham, Clock House, Elmers End and Eden Park stations will be closed throughout the weekend. Check replacement buses and plan your journey.
Ask about adult education plans at Beckenham Library
Bromley Council is considering closing the Poverest Centre and offering more adult-education courses from libraries and other community sites. No decision has been made. A question session runs at Beckenham Library on Wednesday 23 September from 1pm to 2.30pm, and the consultation closes on Sunday 18 October. Respond to the consultation.

Songs of love at St George’s, 12.30–1pm · free. Mezzo-soprano Bonnie Liu and pianist Irina Chagunava perform songs by Schumann, Hahn, Berlioz, Purcell and Jake Heggie in a lunchtime recital at St George’s Church on the High Street. Admission is free, with a collection. See the recital programme.

Roadworks and Transport
Beckenham High Street road closure continues: A road closure on Beckenham High Street is scheduled to continue through Wednesday 23 September during UK Power Networks work. A lane closure is also in place at the Beckenham Road and Rectory Road roundabout through Tuesday 22 September.
Clock House Road closes again next week: Clock House Road is scheduled to close from 8am on Monday 21 to 6pm on Friday 25 September for council work.
Temporary lights on Upper Elmers End Road: Multi-way temporary traffic lights are scheduled on Upper Elmers End Road from Monday 21 to Tuesday 22 September during Openreach work.
