Sports Week and a new Sports Day at Derry Hill SchoolDerry Hill CofE Primary holds its Sports Week from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 June, with mixed physical activities across the week. Sports Day follows on Friday 19 June in a new format: races run across the morning, roughly 9am to 1pm, and parents are invited to stay on for a picnic lunch. Owl Class also travel to the Chippenham Games at Stanley Park on Wednesday 17 June. The school newsletter has the latest timings, which the school notes may still change. |

Extension plans for the Ivy Inn, Heddington: An application for a single-storey extension, replacement windows and minor internal alterations at the Ivy Inn in Heddington is under consultation with Wiltshire Council. The work is part of the community group's plans to bring the pub back into use; the application is on the Wiltshire Council planning register under reference PL/2026/03258. |

Church Road and Studley Lane closure to Friday 19 June: The Derry Hill and Studley closure remains the main local disruption, with works listed to Friday 19 June and a diversion via the A342 and A4. Faresaver routes 33, X33 and X10 cannot serve the usual Church Road village stops: routes 33 and X10 use Studley Cross Roads and the X33 uses the Lansdowne Arms stop. Chippenham bus station closed this weekend, 13-14 June: Chippenham bus station and the Gladstone Road and The Causeway stops are unavailable on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June. A3102 Beversbrook scheme moves towards Stanier Road: The £6.9m A3102 Beversbrook improvement works enter a new phase, with traffic management switching sides and work moving towards Stanier Road. Expect drainage, signals and island works over the coming weeks; allow extra time on trips through the Calne approaches. Calne town-centre signals continue: Multi-way signals remain in place around Church Street, Coxs Hill, New Road and The Strand on the town-centre approaches through late June. Shorter Wessex Water and utility works are also dotted around the wider Calne streets during the week. |
