Fynamore School Streets pilot moves forward
Wiltshire Council plans to progress a School Streets pilot outside Fynamore Primary School in Calne after consultation. The scheme would use short term-time traffic restrictions at the start and end of the school day, with an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order and further statutory feedback before any final decision. New-starter and fete dates at Derry Hill School
Derry Hill CofE Primary's latest diary lists the new Dormouse starter meeting for Thursday 4 June at 5pm in the hall, Squirrel Class family learning afternoon on Tuesday 9 June at 2pm, and a non-uniform day on Friday 12 June in exchange for a bottle of wine for the village fete. The school newsletter also flags Sports Week from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 June and Sports Day on Friday 19 June.
Bowood Woodland Garden closes on Sunday
Bowood's separate Woodland Garden, off the A342 between Derry Hill and Sandy Lane, finishes its 2026 season on Sunday 7 June. The visitor information lists 10.30am-5.30pm opening, last admission at 4.30pm, free parking by the admissions kiosk and dogs welcome on leads; check Bowood's Plan Your Visit page before travelling.
