Pratts Bottom puts its history on showPhotographs, maps and local accounts bring together the past, present and future of Pratts Bottom at the Village Hall on Norsted Lane from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 29 August. Entry is free, everyone is welcome and tea and coffee will be available. Plan a visit to the historical exhibition. Waldo Road recycling centre targets November returnWaldo Road Reuse and Recycling Centre is expected to reopen in mid-November after major depot upgrades, with an exact date still to come. The temporary Baths Road site will continue taking booked weekend visits in the meantime, while the borough’s weekend garden-waste sites remain open until the end of October. See the live-music event. Monday 31 August Cudham village show and fete, 1pm–5pm · free. Cudham Village Club’s bank-holiday show and fete fills Cudham Recreation Ground with live music, arena displays, village games, a mini funfair and a traditional show of flowers, baking and vegetables. Entry and parking are free, with donations welcome. See the Cudham show and fete programme. Wednesday 2 September Autumn tree walk at Hawkwood, 10am–11:30am · free. National Trust ranger Luke Underwood leads a free walk from Tong Farm through Petts Wood and Hawkwood, identifying trees and explaining recent pond, fencing and planting work. Booking is not needed; wear sturdy footwear for uneven tracks and note that there are no toilets or parking at the farm. Plan the autumn tree walk. |
