Hounslow pupils have until Sunday to design the Think Well logo

Secondary-school aged young people who live or study in Hounslow can enter the logo competition for Think Well, a free youth wellbeing space due to open at Beaver's Children's Centre in Cranford this summer. Entries need a photo or PDF of the design, plus parent or carer contact details for under-18s; the deadline is Sunday 24 May. See the Think Well competition page.

Foodies Festival takes over Syon Park for the bank holiday

Foodies Festival runs at Syon Park from Saturday 23 to Monday 25 May, with 11am starts each day, live music, chef demos, a Kids Cookery School, scavenger hunts and dog-friendly activities. Car parking is listed at £6; check times and tickets on the Syon Park event page.

Foster Care Fortnight drop-ins continue at the Treaty Centre

Hounslow's fostering team is at the Treaty Centre from 10am to 4pm on selected days until Friday 22 May, for informal chats with prospective foster carers and existing carers. The council says Hounslow foster carers can now earn from £408 to £848 a week depending on a child's needs. Read the Foster Care Fortnight update.

Baby stay and play at Brentford Library, 10.15am-noon. A free weekly stay-and-play session for under-3s and their carers at Brentford Community Hub and Library, with toys out and no need to register. See the Hounslow Connect listing.

Wednesday 20 May

Community Hub at Mission Hall, 10am-1pm. Hounslow Connect lists housing engagement, health teams, mindfulness mosaics and arts and crafts at Mission Hall, Mission Square. The drop-in is free; see the Brentford Community Hub schedule.

Thursday 21 May

London Museum of Water & Steam, 10am-4pm. The Green Dragon Lane museum is open Thursday to Sunday, with hands-on waterworks displays and the Splash Zone for a practical local outing. Check the visitor information before travelling.

Friday 22 May

Brentford Community Hub drop-in, 10am-2pm. Community Solutions, health outreach and housing teams are listed for the Friday drop-in at Brentford Community Hub and Library, 11F Boston Manor Road. No booking is required; see the hub schedule.

Community walk at Boston Manor House, 11am-noon. The volunteer-led walk is free, suitable for any ability and starts from the Boston Manor House front entrance portico. Arrive 10 minutes early with suitable shoes; see things to do at Boston Manor House.

Saturday 23 May

  • Boston Road and Boston Manor Road: Openreach works on Boston Road have two-way or multi-way signals until Wednesday 20 May, while Boston Manor Road has multi-way signals overnight into Thursday 21 May. Allow extra time around the A3002 and Boston Manor school-run routes.
  • Rosemary Lane: A Thames Water road closure is listed from Wednesday 20 to Thursday 21 May.
  • Great West Road: National Highways works list overnight road closures from Wednesday 20 into Saturday 23 May, with 9pm-5am windows.
  • High Street and London Road: High Street has a Thames Water multi-way signal job listed for Wednesday 20 May, while London Road has Openreach two-way signals over Saturday 23 May and multi-way signals from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 May.
  • Ealing Road: Cadent works have two-way signals on Ealing Road until Wednesday 20 May. Further mobile-network works are listed from late Monday 25 May, with multi-way signals likely to affect the route after the bank holiday.
