Final free skate weekend at Canada Water Plaza
Skate Canada Water closes its summer programme with free sessions from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. All ages and abilities are welcome, with beginner coaching, free skating and equipment provided; book your skate session in advance.
Family science returns beneath Rotherhithe
Children aged five to 12 and their grown-ups can try playful engineering and science challenges at the Brunel Museum's Tunnellers Club from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 27 September. The activity is free, but booking requires a £3 deposit per child, refunded when they attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout.
Two Southwark Park exhibitions enter their final month
There is just over a month left to see Isabel Nolan's some fundamental forces and DanFong Wang's The Sparkle, The Blossom and The Milky Land. Both free exhibitions run until Sunday 1 November and are open Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5pm.

Young, Gifted & Black opens at Canada Water Theatre
Young, Gifted & Black brings plays and performances to Canada Water Theatre through October. The first show here, A Collection of Conversations, follows three young Black women navigating university, friendship and adulthood on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October. See the programme for booking.

Secret concert returns to the Thames Tunnel Shaft
DEBUT's autumn concert series returns to the candlelit Brunel Museum shaft with classical musicians and a programme revealed on the night. See the concert details and book; doors open at 7pm and the music starts at 7.20pm.

Songs and smiles for little ones, 11am-noon · free · booking required. Children aged up to four, their grown-ups and older care-home residents can make music together at the free intergenerational Songs & Smiles session at Tower Bridge Care Home, 1 Aberdour Street. Booking is required.
Turkish classical music at Sands Films, 8-9pm · booking required. Makam London and clarinettist Ewan Bleach play Turkish classical music at Sands Films Music Room, 82 St Marychurch Street, Rotherhithe. The concert brings together voice, oud, kanun, clarinet and percussion. See the concert and ticket details.
Saturday 26 September
Walk from Southwark Park for London hearts, 10.30am-6.30pm. The 6km and 21km London Life Hike routes start and finish at Southwark Park Bandstand, raising money for CPR training and public defibrillators. Entry is £15 for adults, £5 for ages six to 18 and free for under-fives; the longer walk starts at 11am and the shorter one at 1pm.

See Harris Academy Bermondsey on a school morning, 9.15-10.30am · registration required. Families with a child in Year 6 can tour Harris Academy Bermondsey at 55 Southwark Park Road, see lessons in action and ask staff about admissions. The open morning runs from 9.15am to 10.30am; register through the school's open events page.
Music for under-fives at Canada Water Library, 10.30-11.30am · free. Babies, toddlers and pre-school children can make music together at Canada Water Library's free under-fives class. The session includes singing, movement and instruments. Booking is essential; the organiser's email address is on the linked page.
