Fynamore School Streets pilot moves forward
Wiltshire Council plans to progress a School Streets pilot outside Fynamore Primary School in Calne after consultation. The scheme would use short term-time traffic restrictions at the start and end of the school day, with an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order and further statutory feedback before any final decision. If approved, work would begin ready for September 2026; Calne News has the Fynamore School Streets update.

Roadworks and Transport

Faresaver routes 33, X33 and X10 cannot serve the usual Church Road village stops during the closure; Calne News has the temporary stop details.
- Old Derry Hill and Devizes Road signals: The generated roadworks feed lists Wessex Water multi-way signals on Old Derry Hill and Devizes Road through Friday 12 June. Allow extra time for trips between Derry Hill, Sandy Lane, Bowood and Calne.
- Studley Hill closure from Tuesday: A Wessex Water road closure is listed for Studley Hill from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 June. Keep it in mind if you use the smaller routes between Studley, Derry Hill and the A342.
- Calne approaches stay busy: Church Street, Coxs Hill, New Road and The Strand continue to show longer-running multi-way signals around the town-centre approaches. Shorter works are also listed around Portland Way, The Pippin, Wessex Close, Amberley Close, Dixon Way, Newbury Avenue, Porte Marsh Road and Lansdowne Crescent during the week.
