A simpler route for 20mph requests

Wiltshire Council has adopted a new speed-limit policy that removes the need for 20mph requests to go through the Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group. Communities can now ask the council's Traffic Engineering Team to assess suitable residential areas and village centres; parish and town councils would still fund any approved signs and road markings. Read the full 20mph policy update.

Calne Bike Meet takes over the town on Saturday

Calne Bike Meet returns on Saturday 25 July, bringing motorcycles, clubs, stalls, food and live entertainment to the town centre. It is free to attend, but town-centre road closures and the afternoon ride-out will affect journeys, so check the Bike Meet travel and parking information before setting off.

A342 signals due south of Derry Hill

Two-way temporary signals are scheduled on the A342 between Derry Hill and Wans House from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 July for Wessex Water work. Allow extra time for Devizes-side journeys, especially at busier times.
