Bromley wants SEND families' views on adulthood support

Bromley Council has opened its Big Conversation about SEND Preparing for Adulthood, asking young people aged 16-25 with SEND, parents and carers to share what is working and what needs improving as young people move towards adult life and services. The survey closes on Friday 28 August, with in-person conversations also planned through Community Catalysts. Read the SEND consultation details.

New warning on emergency repair scams

Bromley Trading Standards is warning residents to be careful when booking urgent locksmiths, plumbers or other emergency repair traders, especially through online searches. The council advises checking trader details, trade memberships and upfront pricing, and keeping screenshots of quoted prices if you are under pressure. Read the Trading Standards advice.

Local resurfacing list includes Court Road and Chelsfield Road

Bromley's 2026/27 carriageway programme lists Court Road (A224), from Church Road to the borough boundary, as a May 2026 principal-road scheme, with Chelsfield Road's complete length in Orpington also listed for May. Sevenoaks Way, from Broomwood Road to Leesons Hill, is listed for summer. Check Bromley's planned carriageway and footway works.

The combined bug bundle is £10 per child, or £7 for handling and £5.50 for bug hunting; adult supervision is required. Book or check High Elms bug session details.

Sunday 31 May

BioBlitz day at High Elms, 10am-3pm. The High Elms bug-event page lists a BioBlitz day drop-in session, with bug hunting available during the day and pre-bookable child tickets. • Petersham Drive and The Landway: Longer gas works remain the bigger residential-road watch: Petersham Drive is listed with a road closure through Wednesday 24 June, and The Landway has a road closure listed through Sunday 21 June.
  • High Street, Court Road and Leesons Hill: Town-centre and A-road approaches have several works in the feed, including High Street works into the weekend, Court Road gas works into early June and two-way signals on Leesons Hill through Tuesday 2 June.
