Bromley Y has free webinars for parents and carers this month
Bromley Y is running a run of free online sessions for parents and carers of Bromley children. They include Helping your child with sleep problems on Friday 12 June, Understanding disordered eating in teens on Thursday 18 June, and Helping your child with fears and worries on Saturday 20 June. Each runs about 90 minutes on Teams, so you can join from home. Book through Bromley Y's webinar calendar.
SEND Local Offer Live event for young people on 26 June
Bromley is holding a Local Offer Live event for young people with special educational needs and disabilities aged 14 to 25, from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Friday 26 June at Bromley Adult Education College. It brings education, health and social care services together in one place, with interactive activities and free taster sessions. Council moves to refuse 350 homes on St Mary Cray green belt
Bromley Council has resolved to refuse plans for 350 homes on green belt land south of Burrfield Drive in St Mary Cray, calling the development inappropriate for the site. The resolution has been referred to the Mayor of London and the Secretary of State, who can still intervene, and the council expects to issue a formal decision in the coming weeks. Orpington Symphony Orchestra summer concert
The orchestra closes its 76th season at All Saints Church, Orpington, with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 'Pathétique' and Romeo and Juliet overture, plus Borodin's Polovtsian Dances. It is a chance to hear a full local orchestra on your doorstep, and a good introduction to live classical music for older children. See the programme and book tickets.

Orpington 1st Motor Show at Walnuts Market Square
The free town-centre motor show returns with vintage, collectable and unusual vehicles on display in the heart of Orpington. Entry is free for visitors, and owners who want to show a vehicle can apply to take part through the organiser. Check the Orpington 1st Motor Show details.
Roadworks and Transport
Town-centre High Street works through mid-June: Thames Water works and two-way signals on the High Street run through Friday 12 June, with further Bromley footway and carriageway works on the High Street continuing into the following week. Allow extra time around the Walnuts and the town-centre approaches.
The Landway and Leesons Hill closures: The Landway in Petts Wood has a gas road closure running through Sunday 21 June, and Leesons Hill in St Paul's Cray has a road closure through Tuesday 16 June. Plan school-run and station routes around both while they are in place.
Evening and overnight closures to watch: Amherst Drive in Orpington has an evening road closure from 7pm to 4am, Monday 15 to Friday 19 June, and Chislehurst Road has an overnight rail-related closure from 9pm on Wednesday 17 June to 5am on Thursday 18 June.
