Ealing Road and Baltic Avenue closures run into next week

A temporary traffic order closes the northbound lane of the southern arm of Ealing Road, between Layton Road and the Great West Road roundabout, until 7pm on Friday 5 June and again from 7am on Monday 8 June to 7pm on Friday 12 June. Baltic Avenue is also closed near Ealing Road on the same dates. The listed diversions use High Street, Half Acre, Boston Manor Road, Windmill Road and Great West Road, or the Kew Bridge and Chiswick route; read the temporary closure notice before planning school-run or nursery journeys.

Local Plan hearings put Brentford sites on the June agenda

Hounslow's Local Plan examination continues this month, with site-allocation hearings for the Great West Corridor on Tuesday 16 June and for Brentford, Chiswick and Isleworth on Wednesday 17 June. Both sessions are listed for 10am at Hounslow House, and matter for residents following future homes, jobs, schools, transport and town-centre change. Start with the Local Plan examination page and the Stage 2 hearings programme.

Brentford Family Hub has no sessions today

Regular Friday sessions include Dad's Play from 10.30-11.30am, infant-feeding drop-in from 12.30-2.30pm and the non-walkers group from 1-2.15pm. On Monday 8 June, the hub also lists childcare, early-years and starting-school nursery information sessions from 9.30am-3.30pm, plus a SEND Local Offer drop-in from 10am-3pm; check the Family Hub East timetable before setting off.

Roadworks and Transport

  • Ealing Road is the main pinch point: Ealing Road, Layton Road, Baltic Avenue and the Great West Road roundabout are the main pinch points this week. The current closure pattern runs to Friday 5 June, then returns from Monday 8 to Friday 12 June, so check the route before school, nursery and commuter journeys.
  • Windmill Road and London Road works continue: Windmill Road has multi-way signals continuing through June, and London Road has carriageway works from Friday 5 to Wednesday 10 June. Expect these to combine with Ealing Road diversions at busy times.
  • Weekend signals around High Street and Lionel Road North: High Street has multi-way signals on Saturday 6 June, and Lionel Road North has two-way signals from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 June. Build in extra time around the town centre, stadium side streets and Kew Bridge approaches.
  • Boston Manor Road and Great West Road next week: From Monday 8 June, utility works continue on Boston Manor Road through Friday 19 June, and Great West Road has an overnight lane closure until Saturday 13 June. These are worth checking before early or late journeys across the A4.
