Top Updates
Windmill Road closes for five days from 16 June
Thames Water is closing Windmill Road completely from Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 June, cutting the usual link between the A4 Great West Road and Boston Manor Road for most of next week. Two-way signals are already running along Windmill Road through June, so it is worth finding an alternative now and avoiding the road once the full closure starts. Check the council's roadworks page before you travel.
A full week of sessions at Brentford Family Hub
Brentford Family Hub East on North Road has a busy week for families. Friday 12 June has Dad's Play for children aged 0-5 from 10.30 to 11.30am, an infant-feeding drop-in from 12.30 to 2.30pm and a non-walkers group from 1 to 2.15pm. Into next week, Monday 15 June brings a SEND Local Offer drop-in from 10am to 3pm and Citizens Advice from 1 to 2pm, and Thursday 18 June has a Stay and Play with CAMHS for under-5s from 10 to 11.15am. Check the Family Hub East timetable before setting off.
Free Catalan street games at Bell Square this Saturday
Bell Square in Hounslow town centre hosts Toc De Fusta's Els amics d'en Crusó on Saturday 13 June, from 11am to 5pm. It is a free, all-ages installation of handmade Catalan street games, automata and mechanical puzzles you can actually play with, and the preview notes a play area suited to children aged 2 and over. No booking is needed; see the Bell Square what's-on page.

Roadworks and Transport
Ealing Road reopens this week: The Ealing Road closure between Layton Road and the Great West Road roundabout is due to finish on Friday 12 June, which should ease journeys around the southern town centre going into the weekend.
Windmill Road: signals now, closure next week: Windmill Road has two-way signals through June before its full closure from Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 June. For journeys between the A4 and Brentford town centre next week, plan a route via Boston Manor Road or Half Acre rather than Windmill Road.
Boston Manor Road utility works continue: Gas and electricity works keep some carriageway incursion on Boston Manor Road into the second half of June, so expect narrowing and short delays alongside the Windmill Road diversions.
Overnight works on the A4 and High Street: National Highways has overnight lane closures on the Great West Road until Saturday 13 June, with further Transport for London works on the A4 through the month, and there are overnight multi-way signals on High Street from Friday 12 into Saturday 13 June. These mainly affect late-evening and early-morning journeys.
