Creative Mile opens its 2026 artist call-out
Artists and makers can now register to exhibit at Creative Mile, Brentford's free art trail on Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September. You do not need a studio in Brentford: the organisers can match exhibitors with local venues, and schools and community groups that are not selling work pay no fee. Family Hub sessions for the week ahead
Brentford Family Hub East has Stay and Play with CAMHS for children aged 0-5 today, Thursday 25 June, from 10 to 11.15am. Friday brings Dad's Play from 10.30 to 11.30am, infant-feeding support from 12.30 to 2.30pm and a non-walkers group from 1 to 2.15pm. Monday includes Stay and Play from 1.15 to 2.30pm and a Family Store from 3 to 4pm. Check the Family Hub East timetable.
Domestic-abuse support during the World Cup
Hounslow Council is reminding residents that confidential support is available throughout the World Cup. Anyone worried about themselves or somebody else can call the borough's Domestic and Sexual Abuse Team on 07810 031 780, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm; call 999 in an emergency. The council's support update also lists the Wednesday One Stop Shop and anonymous Crimestoppers number.

A Midsummer Night's Dream at Gunnersbury
Gunnersbury Park hosts a family-friendly outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream on Thursday 9 July. Gates open at 6.30pm for picnics and the show starts at 7.30pm, with high-energy music, comedy and audience participation. Tickets start at £13; book through the Gunnersbury event page.

Friday 26 June
Little Flamingos at Gunnersbury, 10.30-11.30am. Little Flamingos returns to Gunnersbury Park Museum with rhymes, action songs, interactive stories and soft play for little ones who can sit unaided. Friday's theme is 'A Wonderful World - Capybara'. Children are £3 and adults go free; book through the Little Flamingos page.
Free community walk at Boston Manor, 11am-noon. Boston Manor House's free community walk takes a gentle route around Boston Manor Park and nearby green spaces. It is open to all abilities and no booking is needed; meet at the house for the Friday community walk.
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June
Free Play Space at Boston Manor House, Noon-5pm. Families can use Boston Manor House's library as a free creative play room, with fabric, blocks, books, costumes, soft play and mirrors for children to build their own play landscapes. The Play Space runs during the house's weekend opening hours and continues through Sunday 6 September.
Monday 29 June
Dementia Café at Boston Manor House, 2.30-3.30pm. People living with dementia, carers, family and friends are welcome for tea, coffee and cake at Boston Manor House café. The group is free, informal and does not need booking; see the Dementia Café page.
Roadworks and Transport
Windmill Road closure on Friday: Thames Water works show Windmill Road closed on Friday 26 June. Use Boston Manor Road or Half Acre if you normally cut through Windmill Road, and allow extra time around the junctions.
Boston Manor Road signals from Monday: Cadent Gas is due to use multi-way temporary signals on Boston Manor Road from Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July, near the Station Parade end. Lionel Road North also has give-and-take traffic control from Monday to Tuesday.
Overnight lane closure by Kew Bridge: A Thames Water lane closure is scheduled on Kew Bridge Road from 11.30pm on Tuesday 30 June to 5am on Wednesday 1 July. The short overnight window may slow late journeys near Kew Bridge.
