SoLo makers take over Canada Dock
More than a browse is promised at the free SoLo Craft Fair from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August. Meet independent makers and shop handmade jewellery, ceramics, prints, textiles, artwork and homeware beside Canada Dock.
Sophie Faith and Norman Jay play the dock
This weekend's free Jazz & Soul programme brings singer Sophie Faith to the floating stage on Saturday 15 August and DJ Norman Jay MBE on Sunday 16 August. The programme starts at 2pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday, with Sofar Sounds warm-up acts at 2.20pm and 1.20pm; no booking is needed.
Three fresh days at Dockside Den
The free drop-in Dockside Den has Brixton Chamber Orchestra on Thursday 13 August (11.30am-3.30pm), drumming and art on Friday (11.30am-4pm), and pebble crafts on Saturday (11am-4pm). Access may pause if activities reach capacity.

Bermondsey Carnival in Southwark Park
The free Bermondsey Carnival returns on the bank holiday with Artful Dodger, live acts and DJs, free funfair rides, children's entertainment, sport, food and community stalls.

Surrey Docks Farm Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival brings vegetable games, Morris dancing, farm produce, a barbecue and wood-fired pizza to Surrey Docks Farm. Entry is free, with food and activities raising money for the farm.

Southwark parkrun, 9am. Walk, jog, run or volunteer at the free weekly 5km parkrun in Southwark Park. Register before your first visit and bring a scannable barcode if you want a recorded time.
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August
Free skateboarding at Canada Water Plaza, 1-3pm. All ages and abilities can book a place at Skate Canada Water. The free sessions include beginner-friendly coaching and free skating, with equipment provided.
Sunday 16 August
Guided Brunel Museum tour, 12.30pm. A 45-minute guided tour in Rotherhithe is included with Brunel Museum admission. Standard entry is £10, under-16s enter free and SE16 or SE8 residents pay £2.50; book the 12.30pm admission slot to secure a tour place.
Roadworks and Transport
Overnight Rotherhithe Tunnel closure: The Rotherhithe Tunnel is due to close overnight from 10pm on Monday 17 August until 5am on Tuesday 18 August. Follow signed diversions and allow extra time; vehicles over two metres high or two metres wide, or goods vehicles over two tonnes, must use another river crossing at all times.
Lower Road lane closure: Thames Water works are due to close a lane on Lower Road overnight from 9pm on Sunday 16 August until 5am each morning, finishing at 5am on Friday 21 August. Allow extra time through the works.
