Artwork specifications

You’re welcome to supply finished artwork. If you’d prefer help, we can create your advert using your logo, photos and business details at no extra charge.

Requirements

Your artwork must meet these specifications before we can publish it.

Dimensions: Exactly 1216 × 480 pixels, landscape (38:15 aspect ratio).
File format: A static PNG or JPEG, in the sRGB colour space.
Safe margins: Keep your logo, text and other important content at least 40 pixels from every edge.
Readability: Text must be comfortably readable on a phone without zooming in, including any required qualifications. We’ll check how it looks in the newsletter.
Content and permissions: Use images and logos you have permission to publish. Claims and offers must be accurate and current.

Recommendations

These are suggestions to help your advert work well.

File size: aim for less than 500KB. We may be able to optimise a larger file.
Type sizes: at the supplied image size, we recommend starting with at least 68px for your main headline, 44px for the main action and 36px for essential supporting text.
Message: focus on one clear message and one principal action, such as “Book a consultation” or “Get a quote”.
Layout: shorten the copy if it feels crowded. Avoid small print, QR codes and competing contact methods unless necessary.

Optional website link

You don’t need to provide a website link. If you’d like a clickable advert, supply the destination URL separately. The whole image will use that one link.

Artwork deadline

For a Thursday issue, please send new or replacement artwork by noon on Monday, UK time, leaving time for review and any revisions.

We’ll confirm your start date once the artwork is approved and the booking is ready. If anything needs changing, we’ll let you know.

Review and approval

All artwork is subject to our review for suitability, technical quality and accessibility before publication. We’ll also write its image description for readers using assistive technology.

We may optimise the file size without materially changing the appearance. We’ll ask before cropping, stretching or making other material changes to your artwork.
