The road closures on Church Road in Derry Hill and Studley Lane are currently due to continue until Thursday 16 July. Allow extra time around Derry Hill, Studley and Old Derry Hill, especially for evening journeys.
Bowood opens its Walled Garden for a guided tour
Bowood's next guided garden tour is on Friday 10 July. Visitors arrive at 10am, the 90-minute tour starts at 10.30am, and tickets cost £24.45 for adults or £21.85 for over-60s. Places are limited to 25 and must be booked in advance.
Goatacre solar array application opens for consultation
Wiltshire Council is consulting on a new application for a small ground-mounted domestic solar array at Lower Littlecott, Goatacre. The record is PL/2026/03602.

Classic Ibiza at Bowood
Classic Ibiza brings a 45-piece orchestra, DJ sets and vocals from the London Community Gospel Choir to Bowood House. Gates open at 5pm and the concert ends at 11pm; general admission is £57.50 plus booking fee, child tickets for ages 5 to 12 are £30, and under-5s go free. Atwell-Wilson classic vehicle show, 8am. Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum's 23rd annual classic vehicle show is open to the public at Stockley Lane, Calne, with vintage and classic vehicles, refreshments, trade stands and a prize draw for a 1996 Mini Sprite.
Calne junior parkrun, 8.50am. Children aged 4 to 14 can take part in the free weekly 2km event at Calne Recreation Ground. Register before a first visit and bring a scannable barcode; the junior parkrun page explains how it works.
Roadworks and Transport
Derry Hill and Studley closures run through the week: Church Road and Studley Lane are both recorded with road closures from 7pm on Monday 6 July to Thursday 16 July. Keep an eye on diversion signs around Derry Hill, Studley and Old Derry Hill.
Lodge Road signals finish on Thursday: Two-way temporary signals on Lodge Road for Scottish and Southern Power Distribution work are currently due to finish at 5pm on Thursday 9 July.
Beversbrook Road works continue: Beversbrook Road and Stanier Road remain affected by the wider A3102 improvement works, with current records running to Monday 20 July. Expect delays on approaches to Calne.
